• 2020.06.18Today’s Class 4 and Elephant Opening Ceremony 3

  

  Today we were so happy to meet more Elephant Class friends! It was nice to be able to play together and speak English too. The children could say “I’m here,” and “Sticker please”. They seemed so happy to get their sticker books and enjoyed the day. We look forward to seeing everyone back in Elephant Class next Thursday. See you then!

  Today was a lot of fun in Class 4! We started the day with playtime on the first floor. This was followed by an English activity learning about how wind effects different habitats. The children loved learning about tornadoes and waterspouts. Next we met a sad Dinosaur who had no teeth. All the children did a very good job of cutting out the teeth and colouring in the Dinosaur. This was followed by a yummy lunch which everyone did a good job of eating and English name writing time. Today the Class 4 children had a lot of fun making different things out of craft. The children are all looking forward to having more fun in Class 4 tomorrow.

• 2020.06.17Bear Class Opening Ceremony, Emergency Drill, and Today’s Class 3

  
  
  

  Today was the first day for both Bear Classes! It was great to meet all the happy children and have lots of fun. We had a morning meeting followed by our first English activity. The children met a rabbit friend and hopped around the room. We looked out the window to check the weather. Sometimes it was sunny, cloudy, or rainy. We were pleased to hear the children repeat phrases like “Sticker please” and “It’s sunny”.

  今日は、今年度初めての防災避難訓練を行いました。昨日はあいにくの雨で中止になってしまいましたが、本日は天候に恵まれて無事実施できました。サイレンがいつなるのかは秘密で実施したので、朝から緊張しているお子さまもいましたが、いざサイレンが鳴ると、その場にピタッと止まって放送や担任の話をしっかり聞いていました。火災が起きた時を想定しての訓練でしたが、“おはしも”の約束を守りながら真剣に避難する姿がかっこいいIYKのお子さま達でした。実際に災害に出会わないことを願うばかりですが、もしもの時のために、今後もお子さま達と真剣に避難訓練に取り組んでいきたいと思います。次回は7月に第2回目の避難訓練を行う予定です。

  今日の3組さんは、2回目のEnglish Lessonがありました。Miss Dorothyと一緒にPotatoやOnion、Cone、Mushroomなどの野菜を使って、美味しいVegetable Soupつくりを楽しみました。 “How are you?”の問いに、“I’m sleepy”など、ポーズを付けて答える姿がとても可愛らしいお子さま達でした。すっかり幼稚園での生活にも慣れ、自分の身の回りのことをスムーズに行えるお子さまが増えました。ランチの準備もお手の物！ワゴンに乗って運ばれてくる給食に、「おいしそう！」「この野菜苦手なんだよな~。」と、いろいろな声が聞こえています。おかわりをするお子さまも多く、友達と一緒なら苦手な野菜も食べることができるようですよ。そしてランチ後の発見活動では、教師と一緒に絵本を見たり、友達とブロックでタワーをつくったり、おままごとや粘土遊びをしたりと思い思いの遊びを楽しんでいます。貸し借りが上手くいかないこともありますが、かかわりの中で楽しく遊ぶルールや貸し借りに必要な言葉を少しずつ身に付けていってくれるといいなと思います。明日は絵の具を使って絵を描きますよ♪また、元気なお顔を見せて下さいね☆

• 2020.06.16Elephant Class Opening Ceremony 2

  

  It was so nice to meet more Elephant Class friends today! The weather was rainy but everyone seemed happy and could have fun during our Opening Ceremony. We got to see lots of smiles and hear the children repeat English phrases like “good morning” and “let`s open”. Our friends enjoyed checking the weather while pretending to wear “magic goggles” too. Thank you so much to all the children and parents who came. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again next Tuesday!

• 2020.06.15Today’s Class 2 and Elephant Class Opening Ceremony 1

  

  Class 2 had a really fun day today. Everyone is getting used to our morning routine, and can put away their belongings themselves. After Discovery Time and a quick speaking game with Class 1, we went back to our classroom for Morning Meeting. We then made birthday presents for this months’ birthday friends. Since it was such a beautiful day, we went to Kitakaze park to play. After a yummy lunch, the children enjoyed playing with their clay and crayons until it was time for a story and goodbye meeting. We all had fun today, and can’t wait until tomorrow!

  We are so happy to meet some of our Elephant Class friends today. Thank you so much to everyone who came. We could enjoy a morning meeting and the children got their sticker books. Everyone seemed more comfortable by the end and we are looking forward to seeing you next week!

• 2020.06.12Today’s Class 1

  

  Today Class 1 had a very busy day. We went to the garden to check on our tomato plants. We couldn’t see any tomatoes yet, but we are looking forward to watching them grow. We also had fun playing with bells in our first music lesson. Everyone was able to dance and play very well. Then we had an English activity. The children had to travel through the deep, dark forest to find their favorite fruit. Once everyone found their favorite fruit, we gave them to Little Red Riding Hood so she could make a cake for her Grandma. With everyone`s big English voices and some fruit power, we were able to make a yummy cake. Class 1 friends were able to play together a lot, and at the end of the day we finished with an English story. Everyone was tired, but we had a lot of fun.

• 2020.06.11Today’s Class 9

  

  今日のClass 9は、English lessonを楽しみました。レッスンのテーマは“Space”。迷子になったAlienを“Mars”“Saturn”などのplanetに帰れるよう、ロケットに乗せてあげました。宇宙について興味をもつお子さまが多いClass 9。.銀河系のPlanetの名前をMr. Chrisと一緒にチェックした時には、知っているplanetが出てくると嬉しそうに教えてくれ、中には「Marsは140℃もあるんだよ！」などと、図鑑で見たことを発言するお子さまもおり、レッスンは大盛り上がりでした。お部屋では、明日でお別れになってしまうお友達に、心を込めてプレゼントとしてお顔を描きました。「周りにおいしいぶどうを描いたよ！」「素敵なリボンをつけてあげたよ！」と、一人ひとりが大好きな気持ちを込めていたお子さま達です。お別れするのは寂しいですが、一緒に遊んだ思い出はいつまでも忘れずにいて欲しいです。明日も元気に遊びましょうね！

• 2020.06.10Today’s Class 8

  

  朝から元気いっぱいに登園してきた8組のお子さま達。「何して遊びたい？」と聞くと、「ソフトブロック！」「レゴ！」「クラフト！」など、いろいろなものに興味津々です。年中組のころからソフトブロックでおうちやおしろ、ロケットなどいろいろなものをつくることが大好きで、レゴやクラフトでつくったものも活用して遊んでいます。おうちには「泥棒が入らないように防犯カメラを置くよ！」とレゴブロックでつくったものを置いたり、「宇宙で対決だー！」とクラフトでつくったものでブラックホールを倒したりと、とっても想像力が豊なお子さま達です。そして今日は、久しぶりのMusic lesson！「ピアノ楽しみだな！」「ロンドン橋なら歌えるよ！」と嬉しそうにレッスンに取り組む姿がみられました。安江先生のお手本を聞いて、「こんな風に弾けるようになりたいな～！」と目を輝かせていましたよ。Music lessonのあとは、折り紙製作を行いました。昨日描いた雨の絵に貼る雨粒をつくります。少し難しい工程もありましたが、Mr.Chrisに折り方を教えてもらい、上手に折ることができましたよ。雨の絵に雨粒を貼って、いよいよ仕上げのクレヨンです。「雷を落とすぞ！」「灰色の雲を描いてみよう。」「雨といえばカエルさんだよね！」と、雨のイメージを膨らませながら、個性豊かな作品が完成しました。どんなことにも一生懸命取り組み、楽しむ時は思いっきり楽しむことのできる８組さん。明日からも、みんなでたくさん遊びましょうね♪

• 2020.06.09Birthday party ～February & March～

  

  今日は、２月と３月生まれのお子さま達のBirthday partyを行いました。久しぶりのBirthday partyでしたが、２月３月生まれのお子さま達はみんなからお祝いしてもらえることがとても嬉しい様子でした。お友達みんなの前に立って少し緊張した様子もみられましたが、大きな声でお名前や歳を言うことができたお子さま達。お兄さん、お姉さんになった姿を見せてくれましたよ。大好きなお友達からプレゼントをもらい、大満足の２月、３月生まれさんでした♪そのあとは、先生達の劇をみて大興奮。ダンスパーティーを邪魔しに来たSharkを、みんなで一緒に倒すことができました。最後にみんなでダンスをし、終始楽しい様子のお子さま達でした。少し遅れてお祝いすることになってしまいましたが、お子さま達のニコニコ笑顔を見ることができたBirthday partyでした♪

• 2020.06.08Today’s Class 7 & 年長組体育教室

  

  Today in Class 7, we had lots of fun! First, we learned about the importance of rain for plants and Class 7 helped Flower by making origami raindrops. Then we made cool rain patterns by mixing blue paint and water. Everyone had lots of fun lifting their pictures and watching as the paint ran down like rain. Tomorrow, we will finish our rain pictures by drawing lots of cute things with crayons. We also finished our special Father’s Day craft today. Class 7 has been thinking about how much Daddy does for them, such as going to work and playing together, and we decided to make a special present – a pocket watch! Today, we finished our pocket watches by attaching colourful paper chains. Everyone is very excited to give their Father’s Day crafts to Daddy! Well done, Class 7!

  今日は、年長組の体育教室を行いました。体を動かして遊ぶのが大好きな年長組さんは、朝からワクワクした様子でしたよ。久しぶりの体育教室ということで、まずはうさぎさんになったりワンちゃんになったりして準備運動をしました。うさぎ跳びでは、両足を揃えてJump！とっても上手にできました♪そのあとは、跳び箱とマット運動にチャレンジです。久しぶりの跳び箱だったので、「まずは跳び箱の上に乗ってみよう！遠くに手をつくんだよ！」という先生のアドバイスを聞き、一生懸命手を伸ばして跳び箱に乗っていました。今にも飛び越えていきそうなお子さまもおり、年長組らしさがみられましたよ。マット運動では、年中組の時に練習していた前転にもう一度チャレンジ！久しぶりでしたが、徐々にコツをつかんで頑張っていましたよ。最後に跳び箱の上の部分を使って側転の練習をしました。先生が側転のお手本を見て、「できるかなぁ・・・」と不安そうな様子も見られましたが、跳び箱を使って練習していくうちに「跳び箱なしでもやってみたいな！」とやる気満々のお子さま達でした。久しぶりの体育教室でしたが、徐々に感覚を思い出し、改めて体を動かすことの楽しさを感じられた1日でした♪

• 2020.06.05Today’s Class ６

  

  ”せんせ～い、おはよう！””今日はどんなことするの？？”と毎日笑顔いっぱいで来てくれる6組さん。年中組になってから、オンライン授業のEnglish Lessonはありましたが、お友達と一緒に参加するLessonは今日が初めてでした。Miss.Rachelのお友達、野菜農家のMs.Foodieからお手紙が届いて、野菜の種まきを頼まれた6組さん。野菜の英単語や、which do you like,～or～? I like ～.と元気に答えゲームを楽しみました。体を動かすことが大好きなお子さま達。English Lesson以外の時間は動物に変身してリトミックをしたり、手拍子に合わせてリズム遊びをしました。久しぶりの幼稚園１週目で疲れが見られるお子さまもいらっしゃることと思います。お休み中元気パワーをいっぱいためて、来週もまた素敵な笑顔で来て下さいね★
