This time I.C.E.C was held in Maruyama park. The topic was hobbies and it was great to have a nice number of people come. It was very interesting to hear about the various hobbies of everyone such as musical instruments, photography and surfing. It was also very pleasing to hear so much English and a lot of follow up questions were also asked in English. Once again I would like to thank all the mother’s who came today and I hope that many will join the next I.C.E.C

Today’s I.C.E.C was lots of fun! It was fantastic to hear all about everyone’s very interesting hobbies and great to see everyone try very hard to communicate with one another in English. Thank you to all of the mothers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to come, and hopefully the next I.C.E.C can be just as successful.

今日は年長組の読み聞かせDayでした。
Two mothers from Class 7 came to read stories for us this morning! Both books were very fun, and all of the children sat super nicely while listening. The first book was about a banana that had stolen the number 3 from all the clocks. The second was about a frog and a dog going shopping for frying pans. Thank you very much for the stories!
　８組では今日２名のお母さまに来ていただきました。１人目のお母さまは「不思議なキャンディーやさん」という大型絵本、２人目のお母さまは「ミッケ」の絵本を子どもたちと一緒に絵の中に隠れている動物や物を探しながら絵本を読んでくださいました。暑い中、子ども達は夢中になり、絵本の世界に入り込んでいました。自分のお母さんが来てくれること、「誰のお母さんが来るのかな？」などと、読み聞かせをとても楽しみにしたり、喜んだりしていたお子さま達。
　９組では本日は2冊の絵本を読んでいただきました。1冊目は「かえるをのんだととさん」という絵本で、お子さま達は登場人物のととさんがどんどんといろいろな物を飲み込み、最後にはどうなってしまうのかとドキドキ、ワクワクしながら絵本の世界に入り込んでいました。2冊目の「とりかえちゃん」という絵本の読み聞かせをしていただいている最中には、絵本の主人公の状況を自分に置き換え「もし大好きなお母さまがいなくなってしまったら…」と少し、ドキドキした様子を見せるお子さま達でしたが、最後には大好きなお母さんが戻ってきてくれるハッピーエンドにほっとしたようでした。声をあげて笑ってしまうような楽しい絵本や、ちょっぴりドキドキした絵本、今までになかなか見る機会の少なかった大型絵本など、様々な絵本の読み聞かせを行っていただきありがとうございました。
