• 2017.03.07March Birthday Party!

  

  We had the March Birthday Party today! It was so much fun and we were so glad to say, “Happy Birthday” to all our IYK friends. With the March birthday party finished, all of the IYK children have celebrated their birthdays here during this 2016 – 2017 school year. Before the party, we announced art contest winners. Then, all 12 of the birthday children did excellent saying their names and ages. They all got presents and we sang “The Birthday Song”. After that, we had a play where the English teachers made a cake. Many children laughed and seemed to enjoy it. When everything was finished, the IYK children presented a “Thank you” gift to Saito-san, one of the ladies who makes our yummy lunches each day. Good job today everyone and Happy Birthday!

• 2017.03.06Today’s Class2

  

  今日の2組さんは、Swimming LessonのTestでした。先週から、体調を崩し、お休みのお友達が多かった2組さん。最後のプールは全員揃って…とはいきませんでしたが、少人数でも楽しみ、Testも頑張りましたよ！この一年で、みんなSwimmingが大好きになり、ｲﾝｽﾄﾗｸﾀｰの先生と一緒に水の中に潜ることもできるようになりました。年中組になってもチャレンジ精神を忘れずに頑張ってほしいと思います。プールの後は、数字書きのプリントに挑戦です。一番難しいと思われる“8・9”を書きました。「まず、“S”を書けばいいんだよね？」と書き順もバッチリのお子さま達。鉛筆の持ち方もしっかりと身に付き、プリントの余白には自分の名前を自分で書くこともできるようになりました。たくさん頑張った後のLunchはうどん。今日も食欲旺盛の2組さん。あっという間にお替りもなくなり、お腹いっぱいになりました。2組さんでお子さま達と過ごすのも、あと5日。明日も、元気いっぱいの2組さんに会えることを楽しみにしています☆

• 2017.03.04プリプリクラブ

  　今日は、4月からインターナショナル山の手幼稚園に入園されるプリンセスとプリンスが集まるPri Pri Clubがありました。少し緊張した面持ちで登園してくれたお子さま達も、一緒に遊んだり、英語劇を見てプリンセスを助けるために製作をしてアイテムを作ったりするなかで、笑顔がたくさん見られていましたよ。お母さまやお父さまと離れてのクラス活動に、はじめは涙が止まらないお子さまもいましたが、最後まで頑張って参加してくれました。
  　同時間帯に１Fでは、保護者説明会が開かれ、園の教育活動や入園に向けてのお話をさせていただきました。たくさんの内容を短時間の中で伝えさせていただきましたので、今後不明な点や心配な点が出てくるかもしれません。そんな時は、どうぞいつでも園にお問い合わせくださいね。
  　次に、皆さんにお会いできるのは、４月の入園式です。たくさんの笑顔に会えることを教職員一同楽しみにしています。また、お子さま達も保護者の方も、楽しい園生活になるよう、準備してまいりますので、今後ともよろしくお願いいたします。今日は、お忙しい中、ご参加いただきありがとうございました！

• 2017.03.03March ICEC

  

  The March ICEC is the last exchange event of the school year but it was a lot of fun! All of the mothers who came brought interesting items to share. We were very impressed by everyone`s items and explanations. It was nice to enjoy some snacks many mothers shared while having conversations in English. We talked about hobbies, places we visited, and so much more. Mr. Chris provided a quiz about the United Kingdom and everyone knew so many of the answers. It was a great time and we look forward to more ICEC events next school year. Thank you for coming and see you again soon!

• 2017.03.02Switch Day Class 1 and Class 4

  

  Today was the switch day for Class 1 and 4. First we did exercise together and switched over the teachers. In Class 1 we were able to have a lot of fun drawing in the children’s line books. After that the bad snowman came to Class 1. He had taken away some of the letters from the Alphabet board. The children did very well to sneak and get the letters back. They could also talk about what letters they got in English. Lunch followed this and it was very pleasing to see all the children eating nicely. After that we read a story book about some sleepy animals. It was a lot of fun in Class 1 today.

  Class 4 was so much fun today. We were able to do fun activities and reviewed shapes and colors. The children were all able to catch colorful fish of various shapes. They could all say, “I have a red square fish,” for example. After that, the children pretended to swim with their fish to music. A hungry shark came and said if he wanted “blue” or “circle”. The kids had to crouch and protect their fish. We had lots of fun! After that we enjoyed lunch together I read a book. Great job, Class 4 friends!

• 2017.03.01年中組～SwitchDay～

  

  今日年中さんはSwitchDayでした。朝から子ども達は４、５、６組の日本人教師が入れかわりいつもと違う先生や友達と製作やランチを食べることをとても楽しみにしていました。さっそくチームが発表されSwitchDayがスタート！！いつもと違う先生に、ドキドキ、ワクワクしながら紙コップけん玉をみんなでつくって遊んだり、いつもと違うお友達とお弁当を食べられることが嬉しくとても喜んでいました＾＾けん玉では「なかなか入らないよ～」と言いながらも先生に「コツ教えてよ！」と何度も練習をしているお子さまや、「僕はこんな技できるよ～」などと自分達でつくったおもちゃでとても楽しそうに遊ぶ姿が見られましたよ。お弁当も食べ終わり、あっという間にSwitchDayが終わってしまい「もっとみんなといたい！またSwitchDayしたいな！」「けん玉づくり楽しかった！」などと満足そうな表情を浮かべていた年中組さん。またみんなでいっぱい遊びましょうね♪

• 2017.02.28北風公園～年少組～

  

  今日は年少組みんなで北風公園に雪遊びをしに行きました。今日は、固まりやすい雪だったので、雪玉や雪だるまをつくって遊ぶお子さま達がたくさんいました。あまりにも大きな雪玉になりすぎて、「もう重くて押せない！」「そうだ！みんなで押そう！」と、友達と協力しながら大きな雪玉をつくっているお子さまもいましたよ。また、みんなが大好きな米ぞりも、今日は特に滑りやすく、「わー！いっぱい滑っちゃったね！」と大喜び！今日の雪遊びも元気いっぱいに楽しんだ年少さん。明日は年少組で最後の雪遊びです！明日も元気いっぱいに遊びましょうね♪

• 2017.02.27Birthday Party＆Switch Day～Class 4 Class 7～

  

  今日は２月生まれのお誕生会でした！可愛らしい年少さん、元気いっぱいの年中さん、かっこいい年長さんが名前や何歳になったかを答えてくれましたよ。そして、今月の誕生会にはスペシャルな友達のリボンナポリンのキャラクター「りぼんちゃん」が来てくれて、一緒に誕生日をお祝いしました。お部屋で踊ったりとお子さま達も楽しんでいたダンスを一緒に踊ったり、一緒にお祝いしてくれたお礼にプレゼントをもらったりと、盛りだくさん！「りぼんちゃんと踊るの楽しかった！」と喜んでいたお子さま達でした。

  Today was switch day for Class 4 and 7. It was a lot of fun to be in Class 7. Today we were able to play a game where ice-cream and zombies were hidden in a house. The children did very well to write the different rooms of a house and try to guess where the ice cream was. This game was followed by lunch and it was pleasing to see all the children asking questions in English and trying to communicate with one another. After the children finished their lunch they did a good job at writing in their diaries about the birthday party. It was nice to see the children’s storybooks and talk about them. It was a great day in Class 7!

  I was very happy to be able to spend the day in Class 4. We had lots of fun playing phonics listening games, and the children showed me their writing and listening skills by filling out their own alphabet bingo cards and listening carefully for their letters. Everyone managed to get BINGO very quickly. All of the kids in Class 4 are excited about becoming Seniors, and they all spoke lots of English with me during lunchtime. What a lovely day!

• 2017.02.24防災避難訓練～地震～

  

  今日は地震を想定した、防災避難訓練を行いました。教師から「今日は避難訓練があるよ」と伝えられると、「怖いよう」などと不安そうにするお子さま達もいましたが、昼過ぎにサイレンが鳴ると、すぐに手を止め教師の指示をよく聞きいて、すばやく机の下に入ったり、本で頭や体を守っていたお子さま達。その後は担任の先生からもう一度地震の恐ろしさや、どのようなことに注意して避難すれば良いのかを伝え、訓練の大切さを理解し、防災についてさらに考えることができた訓練になりました。

• 2017.02.23Junior English Open Class (1, 2, 3)

  

  Class 1
  Today’s Class 1 English Open Lesson was so fun! The children all did so well and showed how much their English abilities have improved this year. We had fun matching big and small letters during phonics time. Then, the children went to Rainbow Rabbit’s house and helped him catch monsters who stole his colors. The children could say phrases like “It’s under the table,” so well. We sang and danced to two English songs and had such a good time. When the lesson was over, the children got a present from Rainbow Rabbit. They got their own paper rabbits to color. The children do so well and the parents can be proud of their progress. Excellent job, everyone!
  

  Class 2 and 3
  The children of Classes 2 and 3 did such a fantastic job today and showed their parents just how much they love speaking in English with one another! They did so well asking each other, “Which do you like?” and answering, “I like stars/circles/triangles/squares/hearts” before putting their shape money into the Magic Machine to change their shape into yummy food! It was great to see the children reacting and speaking with one another in their usual loud, confident voices. Brilliant job everyone and a big thank you to all the parents that came to watch today. Thank you for all of your encouragement and support throughout the children’s first year of English lessons here at IYK.
