• 2024.03.07Today’s Class 7 (Farewell Party)

  

  IYK held the Farewell Party for our Seniors today and the Class 7 friends had lots of fun with their younger friends! After playing games in the morning and enjoying our second-to-last ‘Morning Meeting’ together, the whole kindergarten got together for the Farewell Party. We practiced entering and singing ‘Friends Forever’ and the Junior and Intermediate friends sang ‘Omoide no album’ for us. Class 7, Class 5 and Class 2 then got together to play 2 games together for the final time. We played Cargo Train and the Tamborine Game before the Juniors and Intermediates gave us super cool medals that they had made together. We enjoyed a tasty buffet style lunch together too before it was soon time to go home! There is only 1 day of regular class left before Sunday’s Graduation Ceremony, and I know it will be a really fun final day! See you all tomorrow everyone and thank you for a fun Farewell Party!

• 2024.03.06Today’s Bear Class

  

  Today Bear Class had our last day. It was great to see everyone once more before they move up and become Juniors. The children did really well this year and we are so proud of them. Today we had our usual Morning Meeting followed by an English activity. Each child could go shopping for flowers and ask “May I have a flower, please?” They could give them to their parents and say “I love you,” too. We finished with a little ceremony where each child received a Certificate of Completion. Congratulations everyone and great job! Thank you for the wonderful year and thank you parents for your support. We wish you the best in kindergarten next year!

• 2024.03.05March Birthday Party

  

  Today was the March Birthday Party. We started with the children who had been awarded certificates for their amazing art work. Next, the March Birthday Friends entered. It was so pleasing to see everyone confidently say their name and age in a big voice. Once we sang the Happy Birthday Song and gave presents, three goats appeared. They wanted to celebrate a Birthday Party by eating grass cake. However, there was a hungry troll that wanted to eat the goats. Eventually all the goats crossed the bridge to eat grass cake and they became friends with the troll through the power of dance and music. Once again, I would like to extend a warm congratulations to all the Birthday friends and a big thank you to all the family members who came and watched today.

• 2024.03.04Today’s Class 4

  

  Today was a lot in Class 4. We started the morning with a Swimming Test. It has been very pleasing to see everyone improve so much over the year and Class 4 did a great job at this. Today was also World Lunch and Class 4 really enjoyed the fried banana dessert from Indonesia. A lot of the children wanted to eat it again. After lunch we did play time and a lot of the children were very excited to show things they made out of La-Q and Lego. The children are very much looking forward to the Birthday Party tomorrow and the remaining days in Class 4. Well done everyone!

• 2024.03.01Today’s Senior

  

  　今日の年長組は文字かずチャレンジを行いました。「今日は先生たちからの挑戦状に挑む日だ！」「問題が難しくても頑張るぞ！」と朝からやる気満々だったお子さま達。教室に集まると、いよいよ幼稚園最後の文字かずチャレンジのスタートです！今回は、小学校へのいくためのパワーを溜める３つのチャレンジに挑戦しました。
  一つ目のチャレンジは、大きな紙に書かれたマス計算をクラスみんなの力を合わせて解くチャレンジです。クラスの活動で、マス計算のプリントに取り組んでいるお子さまたちは、「全然簡単だね！」とスラスラと書き進め、全問正解していましたよ。
  二つ目のチャレンジは、○△□のパズルを組み合わせて、指定された形をつくるチャレンジでした。教師が見せたカードと同じ形をつくる初めてのチャレンジは、少し難しかったですが、チームのメンバーと話し合いながら、協力することで、全員クリアすることができました！
  最後のチャレンジは、「文章を正しく読む」チャレンジでした。これは、拾ったカードに書いてある文章と、対応するイラストを見つけるチャレンジです。カードを拾うとあっという間に文字を読むお子さま達。最後には大きな声でカードに書かれた文字を大きな声で発表することができましたよ！
  最後にはパワーが全部溜まり、小学校に行ける証明書を貰うことができました！小学校に行っても、今日の“諦めずに最後までやり抜く気持ち”を忘れずにたくさんのことにチャレンジしてくださいね！

• 2024.02.29文字かずChallenge(年中)

  

  　今日は年中組最後の文字かずChallengeが行われました。「前のChallengeよりも難しかったらどうしよう」「みんなでやればきっとクリアできるよ」と当日を楽しみにしていた年中組のお子さま達。まず初めはNumber Challengeに挑戦しました。プリントに書かれた〇のかずを１０のかたまりごとに線で囲み、正しいかずが書けたら同じかずのカードをもっている教師のもとに並びます。もしダミーカードに並んでしまうと、後ろにバッドモンスターが隠れていたため、お子さま達はドキドキしながらも真剣な表情で取り組み、無事全員正解することができました。次に挑戦したHiragana Challeageでは、選んだ絵カードの文字とホワイトボードの文字とを見比べて、『同頭語』『同尾語』の仲間分けをしました。途中うっかり違うグループにカードを貼ってしまうお子さまもいましたが、もう一度よくカードの文字とホワイトボードの文字を見比べ「あっこっちだ！
  」と気付いて貼り直したりと、２つ目のChallengeも全員でクリアすることができましたよ。最後に、文字かずレンジャーから特別な賞状が各クラスに届き、年長組になっても文字かずの活動に全力で挑戦しようと気合い十分な年中組でした。

• 2024.02.28文字かずChallenge(年少)

  

  今日は年少組最後の文字かずChallengeの日でした。忍者の‟忍くん”から、Challenge➀➁と書かれた手紙が届き、「なんだろう、楽しみ！」と興味津々のお子さま達。まず初めは、ホワイトボードにたくさん貼られた名前カードの中から自分の名前を探し出すというChallengeでした。同じ苗字が書かれていても、下の名前は違うという引っ掛けもありましたが、お子さま達は声に出してひらがなを読んでみたり、友達同士で教え合いながら、一生懸命探していましたよ。そして、2つ目のchallengeは、〇✕ゲームです。“ねこ”と“ぬこ”が書かれた紙を見て、どっちが正しい文字かを考えたり、たくさん描かれたりんごのイラストを見て、何個あるのかを数えたりしました。「どっちかな？」と悩んだり、「こっちだよ！」と自信満々に移動したりしながら答えを出し、見事正解した時にはみんなで両手を上げて飛び跳ね、大喜びの様子でした。最後には忍くんからメダルのプレゼントを受け取り、大満足のお子さま達でした！

• 2024.02.27February Birthday Party・俳句会

  

  今日は、2月生まれのBirthday Partyでした。ピアノの演奏と手拍子に合わせて入場してきたお子さま達は、みんなの前で少しドキドキした様子もありましたが、自分の名前や年齢を元気いっぱいに答えることができましたよ。クラスのお友達から歌やプレゼントをもらった後は、先生達からのプレセント！‟食いしん坊おばけ”というパネルシアターを披露してくれました。腹ぺこなおばけの子どもたちが冷蔵庫のドアをこっそり開け、つまみ食いをするストーリで、色々な食べ物のシルエットが出てくる度に、「トマトかな？」、「美味しそう！」というような声がたくさん聞こえてきました。最後には、大きなお皿にのったデコレーションケーキが出てきて、みんなで2月生まれのお友達のお祝いをしました。お子さま達はパネルシアターが終わった後も歌を口ずさんだりと、余韻を楽しんでいました！

  Birth day Partyの後には、年中・年長のみんなに集まってもらい、９組のお子さま達が俳句を発表する”俳句会”を行いました。１年間、名句を詠んだり、色々な季節の俳句をつくったりしながら俳句に触れてきたClass 9。３学期には、冬・春の俳句をみんなで作り、その中から代表して５人のお子さまが発表をしてくれました。「雪」や「冬休み」など、冬の季語を使った俳句や、小学生になる期待を込めてつくった春の句など、素敵な俳句を元気いっぱい披露したClass 9のお子さま達でした。

• 2024.02.27Today’s Elephant Class

  

  Elephant Class had a great time performing for their parents today. They pretended to make snowmen and danced to the “Snowman Dance” using lots of English vocabulary like “big”, “medium”, and “small”. They also played bells to “Under the Sea” just like they learned in music lessons. Everyone was adorable and looked so happy. They all did their best. We hope you enjoyed the show and are proud of them. The year is almost done, so let’s make the most of the next two lessons in Elephant Class. See you on Friday!

• 2024.02.26Elephant Class Mini Performance

  

  Elephant Class had so much fun showing their mini performance to their parents today. The children could dance to the “Snowman Dance” and say English words like “big”, “medium”, “small”, and “freeze”. They could also play bells along to “Under the Sea”. Everyone looked so cute and happy. Many friends were a little shy but they all tried so hard and we hope you are proud of them. The year is almost over so let’s enjoy the next weeks of Elephant Class and continue having fun. See you all on Thursday!
