Today in Elephant Class, we had so much fun doing physical activity and spoke lots of English. Everyone got binoculars and went looking for animals. We could find a rabbit, an alligator, and a monkey. We did a physical activity like each animal, hopping like rabbits, making big alligator mouths with are hands, and climbing up stairs to go down a slide like monkeys. It was so much fun! We saw lots of smiles, and heard lots of English. Children tried saying phrases like “It’s a monkey,” and “Banana, please!” Have a wonderful weekend and see you all next Monday. Our next lesson will include a music activity.

2025.05.02Today’s Class 5
Today in Class 5 we had a bubbly, colorful day filled with creativity and tasty treats! During Art Time, we brought out our paints and used our brushes to create beautiful circular bubbles on our papers. The children got to choose 3 colors each for their bubbles, and their finished art looked so bright and cheerful! It was a great way to practice gentle brush control and express our imaginations. After all that painting fun, we enjoyed a delicious lunch of warm salt ramen. It was so yummy and comforting, perfect after a busy morning. Great job today, Class 5 — we can’t wait for more fun after the holidays! -
2025.05.01Today’s Class 4
Today in Class 4, we had a day full of new activities and fun exercise! We have been working so hard to level up to Intermediate style, and that includes some new, cool daily activities like tie a bow challenge. Everyone also did a great job practicing writing their names nicely! Next we took an exercise break and had our first jump rope challenge. We learned how to hold the jump rope, how to rotate it in the air like a helicopter, and we did some super fun stretches with them. After that, we showed off how much we know about numbers! Class 4 did such a fantastic job counting and writing some numbers on their own. We are starting to master the Intermediate style– we can’t wait to make our new Teacher’s Assistant cards and see how much we have grown during body measurement tomorrow. Awesome job today, Class 4!2025.04.30Today in Class 3

He was very impressed with all of the clear and confident voices in Class 3 this year! We then finished the Mother’s Day Craft that we began on Monday. We used our glue to stick down lots of different pieces we had made, as well as make difficult 3D flowers with origami paper! Everyone did a fantastic job. We then completed 2 Hiragana worksheets, し and つ. After lots of hard work and fun, it was already time to go home! See you all tomorrow Class 3 and thank you for trying so hard today, well done!2025.04.28April Birthday Party!
Today was the birthday party for the children (and teachers) born in April. This was our first party of the year, and some friends were a little nervous, but everyone did a fantastic job! After sitting down in front of everyone, all of the children could answer to “What’s your name?” and “How old are you?” as well as new questions for each grade. Next, the big birthday cake came out and the birthday children got candles to decorate it with. Next, it was time to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ and give three cheers! After receiving their presents made by their classmates, everyone sat down for the teacher’s play. This month was “The Little Red Hen.” Hard working Chicken needed help to grow wheat and make a cake, but the other farm animals did not help. Luckily, all of the children at IYK could lend a hand digging, cutting, and mixing to make a yummy birthday cake that Chicken shared with everyone. Congratulations to all of April’s birthday friends and thank you to the parents who came to watch today!2025.04.25Today’s Class 2

After everyone arrived, we had Discovery Time and played together. After cleaning up, we had our Morning Meeting and got stickers for our stickerbooks. Everyone could point to what sticker they wanted and say, “This one, please!” Next, we sang the ABC song and played a guessing game with words beginning with “A” and “B.” Today, everyone could also come to the front and say their name to the whole class! We also began making Mother’s Day presents by drawing Mummy’s face with our new crayons. Soon it was time for yummy school lunch. Many friends asked for “More rice, please!” After cleaning up and brushing our teeth, we had Discovery Time until it was time for a story book and our Goodbye Meeting. Good job, everyone!
