• 2020.08.20Today’s Class3

  

  今日も元気いっぱい登園してくれた3組のお子さま達。新学期が始まり3日目の今日は、Miss. DorothyとEnglish Lessonを楽しみ、昨日、菜園で収穫したトマトの絵を描きましたよ。葉っぱと茎がプリントされた画用紙に、「真っ赤なトマトがたくさん実っていたよね！」「まだ緑色のトマトもあった~！」などと、菜園で観察した様子を思い出しながら久しぶりの描画活動を楽しみました。来月予定されているPhysical Festivalに向けての活動が少しずつ始まり、2階のオープンスペース（1・2組）に移動し、Junior ClassのみんなでDanceをしました。軽快なリズムにのって楽しそうに身体を動かし、「かっこいいところを早くパパやママに見てもらいたい！」と、今から当日を楽しみにしているお子さま達です。2学期から、2名のお子さまが新しく仲間入りして、21名になり、ますます元気パワーがアップした3組さん。これからもみんな仲良く、楽しい毎日を過ごしましようね。明日は、みんなが大好きなSwimming Lesson！プールバックを忘れずに元気に幼稚園に来て下さいね☆

• 2020.08.19Today’s Class 2

  

  Today was a very hot day, but everyone in Class 2 had a great time. After arriving at IYK, we went to play in Kitakaze Park for a while, but stayed mostly in the shade to keep cool. On the way back, we took turn picking tomatoes from the garden. Back in the classroom, the children examined the difference between green and red tomatoes, and the children decided that soft, red tomatoes would be more yummy than hard, green ones. We played some English games with Class 1, then came back to read the ‘Little Red Hen.’ Then the children helped the Little Red Hen find her wheat and flour by guiding her through a maze. It was lots of fun, and everyone enjoyed participating. We also got to do our first practice for our Physical Festival Junior Dance. Today was packed lunch day, and we also got to eat the tomatoes we picked from the garden! After lunch, we had Discovery Time, and before we knew it, it was time to go home. What a fun day! • 2020.08.182nd Term Opening Ceremony

  

  Today was the 2nd Term’s Opening Ceremony. We welcomed all of the children back to IYK and heard lots about their fun Summer Holidays! We held 4 separate ceremonies and talked in each about the super fun events and activities waiting for everyone this term, Crops Thanksgiving Week, The Physical Festival, Halloween, Adventure Quest, IYK Carnival, Christmas and many more! The children were surprised that this term is spread over 5 months and 3 different seasons! All of the teachers are very happy to see everyone happy and healthy after the break and we are looking forward to having lots of fun and learning lots during this term!

• 2020.08.07キッズワールド～Special craft②～

  

  　今日は夏休み２回目のSpecial craftで、『スライムづくり』に挑戦しました。最初に教師が「レモンジュースを飲みまーす！」と勢いよくコップを傾けても中身がこぼれず、「え？」「どうして？」と目をまるくするお子さま達。「これからこのスライムをつくる実験をするよ！」と伝えると「えー！！本当につくれるの！？」と大興奮でしたよ。まず、好きな色の色水を選び、洗濯のりを合わせてよく混ぜます。次に魔法の水を加え、さらによくかき混ぜると…「うわー、だんだん固まってきた！」「何だこれ」「実験大成功！」とあっという間にスライムの完成です。お弁当を食べ終えると、いよいよ楽しみにしていたスライム遊びの時間。こねたり、伸ばしたり、ちぎったりしながら、「冷たいよ」「ブヨブヨする」「ペタペタじゃない？」「気持ちいい」などと思う存分感触を味わっていました。最後に、友達の持っている違う色のスライムと混ぜ合わせる実験をしてみると、どんどん不思議な色に変身していき「キレイな色！」「面白い模様みたい！」色の変化にも興味津々のお子さま達でした。

• 2020.07.31キッズワールド～Special craft①～

  

  　いよいよ夏休みがスタートしましたね。今日は夏休みのキッズワールドでのお子さま達の様子をお伝えします。午前中は、眩しい日差しの中、園庭で水遊びを行いました。例年は、水着に着替えて園庭に設置したプールで水遊びを行っていたところを、コロナウイルス感染予防のため実施できず、服を着たままでの活動になりましたが、じょうろ、ピストル型の水鉄砲や巨大な鉛筆型の水鉄砲、水風船など様々なアイテムを使って思い切り水遊びを楽しんでいました。中には「気持ちよすぎる～」と自分の体めがけて水鉄砲を噴射する人がいたりと、びしょ濡れになりながらも大満足のお子さま達でしたよ。午後は、Special craftで年少組は『魚』、年中組は『いか』と『たこ』、年長組は『くじら』をクレヨンと絵の具のはじき絵で表現しました。クレヨンの模様も絵の具の色も好きな色を自由に選択してもらうと、「くじらって青いから絶対水色にする！」「そうだよね！」と、物知りの年長組からは水色くじらが人気でしたが、赤のいかや黄緑のたこ、オレンジの魚などカラフルな生き物たちでいっぱいの海が完成しましたよ！

• 2020.07.29Closing Ceremony

  

  Today was the last day of the first term at IYK. It was a half day, but everybody had tons of fun while we were here. The closing ceremony was split into three separate groups. As the children filed into the Kids World room to sit down, we could see how nicely the children were sitting, and they could pay attention very well. We reflected on the term, and how much the children have progressed, as well as introduced the Junior friends to Enchou-sensei’s motto of “Early to bed. Early to rise. Greet cheerfuly. Eat breakfast.” Everyone is looking forward to summer vacation, and we hope that everyone can have a safe and fun time over the holidays. Have a great time, and see you next term!

• 2020.07.28Today in Class 1

  

  Class 1 had a very busy day today. It was the last full day of the term so we wanted to have as much fun as possible. In the morning we played together with Class 2. After our Morning Meeting and phonics practice, we made a sunflower craft with paper plates. Everyone did a great job coloring the center of the flower and using glue to add flower petals. After we made sunflowers, we had Super Clean Up. Everyone helped to make the Class 1 classroom very clean. And they enjoyed using towels to slide around on the floor as they cleaned! After cleaning, we went to the park. On the way to the park we stopped in the garden to check on our tomato plants. Many of the tomatoes have started to turn red! They have gotten much bigger, and everyone is excited for them to finish growing. It was hot and bright outside, but luckily it was cloudy. At the park we saw many animals, such as worms, bees, butterflies, and pigeons. Everyone enjoyed looking for wildlife and identifying the different animals. After the park, we came back to school for lunch. Everyone was tired, but they enjoyed their lunch, and we played before going home. Sadly, tomorrow is Closing Ceremony, but we hope everyone has a wonderful summer vacation.

• 2020.07.27Today’s Class 8

  

  今日のClass8は、ベルのレッスンを行いました。ベルが大好きな8組さんは、お部屋でもベルの曲である「Tomorrow」を口ずさんでおり、久しぶりのベルのレッスンにもやる気満々。何度も繰り返し練習するうちにどんどん上達し、最初から最後まで通して演奏できるようになりました♪レッスンのあとは、虹色の魚のCraftを行いました。先週の水曜日にはじき絵でつくったお魚を切り、オリジナルの虹色の魚が完成しました♪「カラフルで可愛いね！」「お魚の赤ちゃんもつくったよ。」と自分が工夫したところや友達の素敵なところを共有しながら楽しんで取り組んでいましたよ。Lunchの前は、8組さんが大好きなゲームの時間です。今日は、フルーツバスケットとかえるジャンプリレーを行いました！中でも動物になりきるリレーが大好きで、「今度はスパイダーリレーがいいな！」「ワンちゃんリレーも楽しそう！」とアイディアを出し合っていましたよ。1学期も残すところあと2日となりましたが、みんなで楽しく遊びましょうね♪

• 2020.07.22年長グループ活動

  

  今日も年長組では、一輪車、竹馬、縄跳びのチームに分かれて行うグループ活動がありました。今日は1学期最後の練習日。それぞれのチームで上達が見られ、「今日も頑張るぞ！」と、やる気は十分でした。一輪車のグループでは、少しずつ手放しで乗れるようになったお子さまが増えて、ジグザグ乗りなど、技に挑戦しています。縄跳びのグループは、走り跳びなど、いろいろな跳び方に挑戦しています。竹馬グループでも、補助のヒールをとって乗ることができるようになってきました。2学期には、グループ活動の発表会があります。夏休み明けに、またみんなで頑張りましょうね！

• 2020.07.21Today’s Class 9

  

  今日も元気に登園していたClass 9。天気予報が雨だということを知ると、「今日は外遊びできるかな？」と、窓の外を眺める姿が見られました。クラスで行った絵の具遊びでは、提灯お化けの模様を絵の具で塗りました。まず画用紙に透明な水を塗ってから、絵の具で色付けすることを知ると、「いつもと違う！」「どんなふうになるんだろう？」と興味津々。水ににじんで絵の具が混ざりあったり、画用紙にじわじわと広がっていく様子を見ると、「綺麗！」と大喜びでした。明日は模様を付けた画用紙を切って、お化けを完成させるのが楽しみですね！午後からは大好きなEnglish lessonがありました。タクシードライバーとお客さんになりきって”Where will you go?”質問したり、”I will go swimming！”と答えながらいろいろな場所に行くことを楽しみました。レッスンの後は、園庭で鬼ごっこやサッカー、一輪車をして遊びました。体を思いきり動かして、「楽しかったー!」と大満足の様子のお子さま達でした。明日はグループ活動があります。楽しみにしていてくださいね！
